There is no getting away from the fact that Christmas 2020 will not be like any Christmas we have previously known either as a brand or a consumer. But that doesn’t mean Christmas has been cancelled. it just means there needs to be a bit more thought put into your offering as a brand and what kind of gift you’re offering as a consumer. Read on for some key trends.
COSY INDOORS AND OUT
We will be spending more time indoors infromt of the fire or out getting fresh air so think about an offering which reflects that. Are there any ways you can incorporate jumpers, pj’s, scarves, hats or gloves into your collection? These, more so this year than ever, will make great gifts.

BRINGING NATURE INDOORS
Nature inspired gifts are comforting right now. How can your collection fulfill this need in people? Think dried flowers, pampas grass, floral craft kits, press sets…

HANDCRAFTED DETAILS
We are craving simplicity and traditional skills in our clothing and homewares with quilting, patchwork and hand embroidery adorning anything from jeans to jackets to cushions. Is there a way of adding this in? remeber, it still needs to work with your aesthetic.

BUT DON’T FORGET THE GLAMOUR
While we want to be cosy, we also want to get in the festive spirit (god knows we’ve earned it!) and a glamorous accessory is the way to go. Statement jewellery, satin and velvet have never been so googled!

BUNDLES, GIFT SETS AND HAMPERS
Do you have anything you could bundle into a set or a hamper which would make a beautifully thoughtful gift? This is a good way to use already existing stock but sold as a set and beautifully gift wrapped gives it a new lease of life.

TALKING OF ADDED EXTRAS
We may not be able to see loved ones on the big day this year and more people will be sending gifts by post straight to the recipient. Can you add a service that would make customers hit the ‘buy’ button? Gift wrapping, a hand written card?

It pays to give Christmas buying a bit of thought this year and the brands that can adapt will be the ones that sell. Be sure to market your little added extras or thoughtful collections to get the most out of this sales season. People are buying early so be sure you’re ready now.
