I am so excited to have you here! I have definitely been hit with the back to school bug. Hands up who loves September because I know I’m not alone. I feel It is like a refresh button on the year, a second chance and the time to implement some new strategies and ideas we have wanted to work on for a while but never found the time.
While my website is still a WIP and the workload has prevented me from spending much time on it (nothing to do with procrastination, nope), I have decided to practise what I preach to my clients which is, one step at a time. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but if you keep moving steadily along and in some kind of correct order, you will get there in the end.
So, if you have come to my website, you may already have found the home page (newly re-designed, I hope you like!) the about section, my services and what I aim to achieve through this. I am, by trade, a fashion designer and you may be asking, yeah, but what do you know ?? People have this preconceived idea that if you’re from a creative background, the sum of your knowledge doesn’t really add up to much. WRONG !!

From having worked in the industry for over 15 years, with major, corporate brands, independents and starts up. In design rooms for both creative and technical design, production, directly with factories, pattern cutters, heads of companies and agents, I actually know a helluva lot were starting and maintaining a fashion brand is concerned.
I have worked with clients from all over the world in men’s, women’s and kids wear, developing collections, range planning, sourcing fabrics, finding manufacturers and general mentoring on all aspects of product development and I want to pass on that knowledge to my clients through the work I do but also through this blog.
There are so many steps to take before getting to the final product ready for retail and I totally get it can be confusing. I aim to create posts that will actually be of benefit to you. Tools and resources you can refer back to when planning your conquering of the fashion world!
From mood boards to range planning, tech packs to industry jargon, prototypes to lab dips… These posts will be your go-to glossary and will help you to ask the right questions, get the right help and turn your amazing idea into a reality.
If you’d like to know more about my 1 to 1 services to help kick start your project, take a look at the design & development section or contact me via the form. I love to chat and will offer you friendly, nonjudgemental advice and demystify this crazy yet exciting industry.
Look out for the first in the series or sign up to the newsletter to be informed when a new post is live.
Leave me a comment telling me what areas you are most interested in and what is stopping you from moving forward at this point.
Till then, be creative, don’t worry, you’ve got this. Deedee x
